Marcos Basso came out of the goal and Guillermo Fontirroig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 40 minutes into the match, The Shadows's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Marcos Basso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 41 in the game by Niklas Lundqvist from a close distance when the talented Thiago Pliego managed to make a qualified save. Chile's players were relieved. 42 minutes into the match, The Shadows's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Marcos Basso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gerardo Pozo fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chile's protests and gave Gerardo Pozo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 45th match minute, Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerardo Pozo to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Chile's zone, Ni Zhen Ying stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thiago Pliego came out of the goal and Ni Zhen Ying tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Mariano Lacasa made the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Niklas Lundqvist in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Thiago Pliego prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Mariano Lacasa made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 61stth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Marcos Basso would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Mariano Lacasas short, quick shot in the 61stth minute got Marcos Basso to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 64th minute, Mariano Lacasa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chile fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. The Shadows's Torgny Söderström was substituted for Wen Rong Feng. The Shadows's Ni Yu Feng was substituted for Li Fei Xu. The audience thought a goal was coming when Orlando Casaus got free with Marcos Basso in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chile were awarded a corner in the 71th minute after The Shadows's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Mariano Lacasa took the corner. In the 72nd minute Niklas Lundqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariano Lacasa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Marcos Basso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niklas Lundqvist in the 79th minute of play. Thiago Pliego tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 94th minute Niklas Lundqvist shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Chile players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented The Shadows from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
