Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Guto Taffarel came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 5th minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Aki Guardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. LUIZ PANATO's supporters rose to their feet, but Aki Guardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guto Taffarel saved LUIZ PANATO from getting behind. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aki Guardo in the 12th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guto Taffarel saved LUIZ PANATO from getting behind. Guto Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhao Yue Cheng in the 21st minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Aki Guardo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 30 minutes, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luis Andino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 32 minutes into the match, LUIZ PANATO's goal looked a bit too open when Felix Montenegro came free, but Guto Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guto Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guto Taffarel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 36th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guto Taffarel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. A collision led to LUIZ PANATO getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Tostão Reis hit a great ball. In the 46th minute Zhao Yue Cheng shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aki Guardo in the 51st minute of play. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guto Taffarel having to interfere. After a rather tough play, LUIZ PANATO's Tostão Reis got a free kick in the 55th minute. Guto Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 64th minute of the match. Guto Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 70th minute of play. LUIZ PANATO's Guto Taffarel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 74th minute of play. Daniel Zorita succeeded in the game's 79th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-3. Aki Guardo took the ball and in the 91 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3.
