The supporters of GrosseLapingen booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matthew Garrido didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th minute of the match, Juan Hoffmann got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcos Cotilla was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After taking down the ball on GrosseLapingen's corner Damazy Pietrowiak fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marcos Cotilla quite easily take care of the ball. If Abraham Alguacil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Hoffmann in the 27th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Cezary Piczak's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Marcos Cotilla was relentless in the 29th minute of the game. Damazy Pietrowiak kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Marian Chilavert made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Hoffmann in the 43rd minute of play. In the 46th minute Abraham Alguacil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marian Chilavert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Cotilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damazy Pietrowiak in the 48th minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The wind increased when Tomas Berganza made the kick off in the second half. If Miguel Miralles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. Miguel Miralles's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marian Chilavert read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. 80 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Cezary Piczak came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cezary Piczak in the 83rd minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
