After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Axel Tasis got a free kick in the 15th minute. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. Benito Sanz was a little too slow when Sérgio Pinheiro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 1-0. Luiz Fabiano Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fabiano Corrêa having to interfere. 25 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Válbson Rocha came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 26 minutes, Aaron Alcocer mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Jaru-Uaru players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sérgio Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. 32 minutes into the game, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luiz Fabiano Corrêa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Válbson Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Eliseo Noboa made a precise shot to the right of Luiz Fabiano Corrêa. Jaru-Uaru's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Axel Tasis kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. The crowd rose to their feet as Axel Tasis kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Luiz Fabiano Corrêa. That made the score 1-3 in the 51 minute of play. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Jaru-Uaru's Válbson Rocha. But to his dismay, Válbson Rocha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. If Eliseo Noboa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adilson Coutinho's late challenge caught a Costa Rica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adilson Coutinho helped the player get up and apologised. After 69 played minutes Jaru-Uaru got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Luiz Massa. In the 70th minute, Axel Tasis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Axel Tasis kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. 83 minutes into the game, Juan Rubio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jaru-Uaru the free kick. Chants of Costa Rica echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Jaru-Uaru had held the ball for most of the match.
