Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 20th minute, Antonio Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 24 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Firma Barnängen's Rune Söder. Rune Söder was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Firma Barnängen. Humberto Alcaraz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Mark Olsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Humberto Alcaraz got free with Julio Vera in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rune Söder showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. After 42 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Felix Montenegro. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Humberto Alcaraz sent off a good shot on target. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mark Olsson was the one to do the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rune Söder. Rune Söder yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rune Söder having to make a save. Mark Olsson succeeded in the game's 60th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-3. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Rune Söder made a huge save. In the 67th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Firma Barnängen's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Luis Andino got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rune Söder quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Firma Barnängen's Rune Söder proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Firma Barnängen from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Agustín Saelices during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Firma Barnängen's Claes Carlsson was substituted for Jonathan Löv. In the 78th minute Humberto Alcaraz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rune Söder was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-4. Firma Barnängen's Rune Söder proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Firma Barnängen from getting a goal against them. 85 minutes into the match, Firma Barnängen's goalkeeper Rune Söder had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. After 86 minutes Firma Barnängen's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner first didn't look so dangerous but when Felix Montes got the ball he succeeded in some way to get through the defenders to deliver a very hard score. Result 1-5. 87 minutes into the match. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Firma Barnängen.
