Viktor Axelsson scored 0-1 in the 5th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Prospero Goethe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 11 minutes, Lennard Rossmanith managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Friesenwerdermoor's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lennard Rossmanith was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lennard Rossmanith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Călin Prunaru having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viktor Axelsson in the 13th minute of play forced Friesenwerdermoor's goalkeeper Prospero Goethe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Through an outstanding action, after 16 minutes, Călin Prunaru successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Friesenwerdermoor's Prospero Goethe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Isbășoiu in the 18th minute of play. After 21 played minutes Friesenwerdermoor got a freekick which was hit by Lennard Rossmanith. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Viktor Axelsson in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Prospero Goethe saved Friesenwerdermoor from getting behind. With a little luck, FC MCM's Călin Prunaru got control of the ball when Jamal Roye tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 26th minute, Ingemar Mense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Friesenwerdermoor's Lennard Rossmanith got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Prospero Goethe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viktor Axelsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermann Luscher in the 38th minute of play forced FC MCM's goalkeeper Călin Prunaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Viktor Axelsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Prospero Goethe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Lennard Rossmanith fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Friesenwerdermoor's protests and gave Lennard Rossmanith a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Friesenwerdermoor getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Lennard Rossmanith hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ingemar Mense during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 45th minute, Cătălin Agulescu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half FC MCM were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Viktor Axelsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lennard Rossmanith in the 55th minute of play forced FC MCM's goalkeeper Călin Prunaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 55 minutes into the match, Lennard Rossmanith notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of FC MCM's Călin Prunaru. Călin Prunaru was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 60 minutes into the match, FC MCM's goal looked a bit too open when Jamal Roye came free, but Călin Prunaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 63rd minute, Cătălin Agulescu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Prospero Goethe. The goal made the score 1-2. Călin Prunaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tom Gerster in the 66th minute of play. When Jamal Roye came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Friesenwerdermoor fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jamal Roye couldn't finish the play. In the 75th minute, Tom Gerster left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Friesenwerdermoor fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Prospero Goethe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrian Isbășoiu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Călin Prunaru showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tom Gerster, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Gerster in the 86th minute of play forced FC MCM's goalkeeper Călin Prunaru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 88th match minute, Friesenwerdermoor was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jamal Roye to maneuver through the defense. After 92 minutes of play, Friesenwerdermoor's Jamal Roye made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Călin Prunaru was left in no man's land by his defense there! Cătălin Agulescu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Prospero Goethe made a huge save. 96 minutes had been played when some careless play by Friesenwerdermoor's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cristi Maniu was slow to take the kick. During this time FC MCM's players had a chance to rest. FC MCM's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
