Ago Leks made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 9th minute of play. The supporters of JK Kurevere booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Venezuela's Jose Correa quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Albert Reiljan, made in the 20th minute of the game. Ago Leks took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. JK Kurevere's attentive Martti Asmer managed to snatch the ball when Alex Chicote made a throw-in in the 43rd minute of the game. Alo Lumi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Martti Asmer charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Martti Asmer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 48th minute, Martti Asmer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alo Lumi to make the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Albert Reiljan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ago Leks was out of position in the 58 minute of play, and Tomas Illescas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomas Illescas really showed his touch with that goal: 0-1. After some careless play in the JK Kurevere defense, Tomas Illescas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ago Leks. The JK Kurevere fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ago Leks should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. 68 minutes into the game, Guillermo Mariano threw the ball into play from the sideline. JK Kurevere's Ivar Meri quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Patricio Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 75 minutes into the match, JK Kurevere's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Ago Leks reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. JK Kurevere's Alo Lumi got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A throw-in in the 83rd minute of the game was made by Camilo Gaos with Tomas Illescas as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Ander Arumäe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Salvador Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 98th minute of the match. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Venezuela had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
