Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Fred Lara took the kick off in the first half of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Fred Lara came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 18th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th minute of the match Zhao Le Sen sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Sanz skillfully saved the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Lautaro Puig had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of La Para. FC Lugano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lautaro Puig was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. A collision led to FC Lugano getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Alexander Testa hit a great ball. After having played for 32 minutes, Jack Saunders managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Lugano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jack Saunders was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 34 minutes into the match, Fred Lara had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fred Lara was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. 43 minutes into the game, FC Lugano's Fred Lara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. 47 minutes into the match, Fred Lara dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 6-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Jack Saunders cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-1. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 55th minute, Costa Rica's Hugo Ferrant seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Hugo Ferrant the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Costa Rica protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Hugo Ferrant had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Hugo Ferrant got a free kick in the 56th minute. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zhao Le Sen in the 56th minute of play. FC Lugano made a substitution. Wincenty Kochowski replaced Nereo Precioso. 71 minutes into the game, Fred Lara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-2. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of FC Lugano booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Fred Lara came up free with the goalie in the 76th minute, the FC Lugano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fred Lara couldn't finish the play.
