They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Bolo Skjold showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jan Dixon in the 81st minute of the match. In the 82nd minute, Eric Hill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Michael Näver struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Jax Williamson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Protegéerna. 84 minutes into the match, Protegéerna's goal looked a bit too open when Filip Edwards came free, but Bolo Skjold reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jax Williamson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petter Skarkman in the 90th minute of play. 91 minutes into the game, one of Protegéerna:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Bolo Skjold, was totally fooled by Canada's Jan Dixon, who 92 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Canada were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Protegéerna to leave the ground with a draw.
