Joinville Esporte Clube's A.J. 韩文海 played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 43rd minute of play. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over A.J. 韩文海. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

This resulted in a 1-2 score and a disappointed A.J. 韩文海 as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 80th minute. 82 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of A.J. 韩文海, 1-3. After 88 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Andino. In the 91st match minute, Joinville Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Sena to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Joinville Esporte Clube's A.J. 韩文海 got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line.
