Venezuela's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Benjamin Lara sent off a good shot on target. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamin Lara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 16 minutes into the game, Alex Chicote was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Joinville Esporte Clube the free kick. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Benjamin Lara was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Camilo Gaos's late challenge caught a Joinville Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Camilo Gaos helped the player get up and apologised. 27 minutes into the game, one of Venezuela:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 34th minute, Benjamin Lara left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Joinville Esporte Clube fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. When Benjamin Lara came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Joinville Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benjamin Lara couldn't finish the play. Joinville Esporte Clube's Benjamin Lara got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Jerry Uchiha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 81 minutes into the game, Jerry Uchiha cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 86th minute Jerry Uchiha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Joinville Esporte Clube's Jerry Uchiha in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jerry Uchiha in the 94th minute of play. After 95 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Illescas. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Joinville Esporte Clube fully deserved thier win.
