When Cordara Baracaldo fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Atletico Maturrango's protests and gave Cordara Baracaldo a yellow card for diving instead. Cordara Baracaldo hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Weather Piedrahita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvaro Micarelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half PINGO PINGO were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Filip Josefsson made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Atletico Maturrango's Cordara Baracaldo got a free kick in the 57th minute. When Florencio Herbella came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Atletico Maturrango fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Florencio Herbella couldn't finish the play. Doctor Frankenhaeuser charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Doctor Frankenhaeuser the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 88th minute, Ederono Ojero ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dionisio Raphael was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After 91 minutes, Caton Oquendo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atletico Maturrango and the PINGO PINGO players grew even worse after the yellow card. Caton Oquendo kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Filip Josefsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Weather Piedrahita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
