A collision led to Valette Stars getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Theo Chassot hit a great ball. Adrien Tanneau showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 23rd minute of the match. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Valette Stars's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafail Rusev, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Rafail Rusev came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Montenegro struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Adrien Tanneau didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Valette Stars's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adrien Tanneau came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita made in the 44th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Felix Montenegro however managed to control. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Rafail Rusev stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Rafail Rusev tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 47 played minutes Valette Stars got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Walme. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Guillaume Chaine made the kick off in the second half. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafail Rusev in the 51st minute of play. In the 53rdth minute of the game Rafail Rusev who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Felix Montenegro could shoot a difficult shot in the 60th minute, which Adrien Tanneau however easily saved by the left post. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adrien Tanneau read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafail Rusev in the 68th minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Rafail Rusev had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rafail Rusev was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Valette Stars made a substitution. Dan Pruvot replaced Pierre-Antoine Landemaine. Adrien Tanneau made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 76th minute. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Adrien Tanneau in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 77th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. 78 minutes into the match, Rafail Rusev had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. The audience was convinced that Guillaume Chaine's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. In the 95th match minute, Valette Stars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurice Crochard to maneuver through the defense. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Valette Stars were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
