Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 3th minute after FC Temeswar Banat's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner led to Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. FC Temeswar Banat's Benigno Osmundo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Camilo Gisbert in the 5 minute of the game. Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Neubauer in the 9th minute of the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrian Neubauer, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. If Adrian Neubauer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agapito Diaz in the 24th minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agapito Diaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 30 minutes into the match, FC Temeswar Banat's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Aimé Holtmann reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Adrian Neubauer tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agapito Diaz in the 36th minute of play. Julio Vera acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 43rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Artemio Lucian. In the 47th minute, FC Temeswar Banat's Adrian Neubauer dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrian Neubauer in the 60th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agapito Diaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Aimé Holtmann made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 66th minute of play. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Aimé Holtmann made a huge save. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adrian Neubauer's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Agustín Saelices could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Aimé Holtmann made a huge save. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adrian Neubauer in the 84th minute of play. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Temeswar Banat's Agapito Diaz. But to his dismay, Agapito Diaz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. In the 94th minute FC Temeswar Banat were awarded a corner. Adrian Neubauer went to the cornerflag to take it. FC Temeswar Banat's Aimé Holtmann proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save FC Temeswar Banat from getting a goal against them. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because FC Temeswar Banat had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
