The coaching staff of Panama protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Alex Cambeiro had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 26th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Cambeiro to maneuver through the defense. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Yavuz Gulson in the 34th minute of play. Vali Nițu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. In the 36th minute, Vali Nițu made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vali Nițu in the 86th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
