Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Broderick Ceney prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Camilo Gisbert made in the 17th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Champions Iasi's Alessandro Sarmento. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Broderick Ceney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 27th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Champions Iasi's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Broderick Ceney reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Broderick Ceney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 33rd minute of play. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Broderick Ceney showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 37th minute of the match. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 43rdth minute, when Champions Iasi's Jacinto Romero fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Through an outstanding action, after 47 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Stefan Pieters kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Julio Vera. That made the score 1-1 in the 47 minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Jacinto Romero made the kick off in the second half. Champions Iasi's Broderick Ceney proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Champions Iasi from getting a goal against them. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Pieters in the 54th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Stefan Pieters's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefan Pieters in the 69th minute of play. After having played for 72 minutes, Jacinto Romero managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Champions Iasi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jacinto Romero was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Felix Montenegro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Broderick Ceney made a huge save. After 82 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. Broderick Ceney was a little too slow when Cristian Sancho got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 86th minute. The score was now 1-2. Jacinto Romero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. When Stefan Pieters came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Champions Iasi fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stefan Pieters couldn't finish the play. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Champions Iasi throughout the match.
