After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Dieguito Maradona managed to get in a good position for a shot. LA LUZ F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Dieguito Maradona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Gayoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Through an outstanding action, after 7 minutes, Joaquin Gayoso successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 12 minutes into the match, Dieguito Maradona dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Joaquin Gayoso, 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 16th minute of play forced LA LUZ F.C.'s goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Maximiliano Escribano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Francisco Seco took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Miguel Ángel Torres. Miguel Ángel Torres dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teo Venceslas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 28 minutes into the match, Dieguito Maradona notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 33 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Dieguito Maradona came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dieguito Maradona who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 40thth minute tested the skills of Joaquin Gayoso when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye LA LUZ F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. In the 46th minute Dieguito Maradona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

LA LUZ F.C. made a substitution. Atilla Açıkalın replaced Dieguito Maradona. LA LUZ F.C.'s Jailson Britto was substituted for Teo Venceslas. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dawid Rojek in the 53rd minute of play. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Alberto Gisbert hit a great ball. After 59 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Alberto Gisbert. After 60 played minutes LA LUZ F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Gaston Ferman. The audience was convinced that Atilla Açıkalın's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. If Atilla Açıkalın had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 70 minutes, Atilla Açıkalın made it 4-1 with a short kick to the right side. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Miguel Ángel Torres made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Francisco Seco sent off a good shot on target. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by LA LUZ F.C.'s Atilla Açıkalın. But to his dismay, Atilla Açıkalın quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind LA LUZ F.C.'s goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Torres, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dawid Rojek struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LA LUZ F.C.. 89 minutes into the game, Kevin Carballal was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Uruguay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LA LUZ F.C. the free kick. Kevin Carballal kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Atilla Açıkalın, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
