Niceto Ihazintu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Pedro Manzanares made a huge save. 46 minutes into the match, Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Niceto Ihazintu. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Abram Sarmiento was the one to do the kick off. Niceto Ihazintu scored 2-2 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Niceto Ihazintu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. Axel Montenegro kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Ergo Muro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abram Sarmiento in the 63rd minute of play. Niceto Ihazintu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Manzanares having to make a save. 90 minutes into the game, Caatiba MZC's Niceto Ihazintu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Manzanares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. Valdomiro Ortiz kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 96th minute, Niceto Ihazintu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Caatiba MZC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-3. For all the effort they put into the match, the Colombia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Caatiba MZC.
