Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Simon Isusko started the match with the kick off. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Marcial Ticho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Carlos Sendoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. If Simon Isusko had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcial Ticho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 12th minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Sportivo Mela Banco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodolfo Lain didn't get a good kick on the ball. 19 minutes into the match, Sportivo Mela Banco's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Marcial Ticho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodolfo Lain during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 20th minute, Rodolfo Lain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcial Ticho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Zeledon Ilazki hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After 23 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcial Ticho was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcial Ticho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcial Ticho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcial Ticho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 48th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 62nd minute. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcial Ticho despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 63rd match minute, Sportivo Mela Banco was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gabriel Pere to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the game, Felix Montenegro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcial Ticho. Felix Montenegro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. In the 68th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Marcial Ticho. The goal made the score 0-5. After 72 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcial Ticho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marcial Ticho made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Cristian Sancho sent off a good shot on target. In the 86th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcial Ticho despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. With a little luck, Sportivo Mela Banco's Marcial Ticho got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 89 played minutes Sportivo Mela Banco got a freekick which was hit by Simon Isusko. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 93 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcial Ticho. Marcial Ticho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. After 96 played minutes Sportivo Mela Banco got a freekick which was hit by Cayetano Chesus. Ecuador played a much better game than Sportivo Mela Banco and deserved their victory. The Sportivo Mela Banco players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
