Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 8 minutes into the match, Voyager Soccer Team's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Waldemar Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's defense didn't have a chance, in the 15th minute, when Piotr Rybak scored to the left of an out of position Julio Vera, making the score, 1-0. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Waldemar Quintal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Voyager Soccer Team's Waldemar Quintal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 22nd minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Voyager Soccer Team was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Piotr Rybak didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bai Kun Yang, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Piotr Rybak's shot from short distance in the 35th minute. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bai Kun Yang was slow to take the kick. During this time Voyager Soccer Team's players had a chance to rest. Bai Kun Yang made a great header on Voyager Soccer Team's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Owsiak, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bai Kun Yang to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Piotr Rybak notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 56th minute, Felix Montes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th match minute, Voyager Soccer Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dênis Marques to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the match, Voyager Soccer Team's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Waldemar Quintal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 67 played minutes Voyager Soccer Team got a freekick which was hit by Gerson da Cunha. Voyager Soccer Team's Ronaldão Silveira was substituted for Alun Harmon. When Bai Kun Yang came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Voyager Soccer Team fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bai Kun Yang couldn't finish the play. Voyager Soccer Team made a substitution. Cícero Leite replaced Alfred Owsiak. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ronaldão Silveira during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 81st match minute, Voyager Soccer Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldão Silveira to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Waldemar Quintal in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 88th minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute Piotr Rybak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd minute, Piotr Rybak made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. The Voyager Soccer Team players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
