A nice corner shot did that Atakan Pepe got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a little luck, spikarna's Lars Norberg got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Ecuador booed when spikarna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sune Offendahl didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes had been played when some careless play by spikarna's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Felix Montes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but spikarna's Lars Norberg did a great save.
