Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Costa Rica's Axel Tasis started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Benito Sanz didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1's Luciano Sesuldo shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-0 in the ordered_time% minute. 5 minutes into the game, Luciano Sesuldo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Luciano Sesuldo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Juan Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1's Javier Ferreyra got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1's Luciano Sesuldo. But to his dismay, Luciano Sesuldo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Javier Ferreyra in the 24th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Javier Ferreyra got free with Benito Sanz in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Javier Ferreyra struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1. 5-0 became the score in the 32nd minute when Luciano Sesuldo elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Javier Ferreyra in the 41st minute. In the 43rd minute Luciano Sesuldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luciano Sesuldo, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Juan Rubio charged in rather forcefully in the 47th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Juan Rubio the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Juan Rubio kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luciano Sesuldo to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Javier Ferreyra came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Javier Ferreyra's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. When Javier Ferreyra came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Javier Ferreyra couldn't finish the play. Luciano Sesuldo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Javier Ferreyra in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Ferreyra in the 60th minute of play. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Javier Ferreyra in the 61st minute of play. Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 66th minute Costa Rica were awarded a corner. Axel Tasis went to the cornerflag to take it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Javier Ferreyra in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 73rd minute, Javier Ferreyra left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1 fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. In the 76th minute Luciano Sesuldo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 77 minutes Costa Rica's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Juan Quiroga who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1's Nicanor Veronica to fire away a dangerous shot which Benito Sanz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 82nd minute, Javier Ferreyra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 83 minutes into the game, Eliseo Noboa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1 the free kick. The supporters of Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1 booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Luciano Sesuldo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Luciano Sesuldo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Javier Ferreyra in the 90th minute of the match. A throw-in in the 92nd minute of the game was made by Juan Rubio with Lautaro Puig as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Javier Ferreyra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luciano Sesuldo might have been able to make a better finish in the 95th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luciano Sesuldo ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Rio de la Plata 91218 3-1 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelo Lordi didn't get a good kick on the ball.
