Pascual Carballar kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. In the 8th match minute, Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Cazalla to maneuver through the defense. Korneliusz Miodek blasted a shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Manzanares having to make a save. If Kraig Fred had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Kraig Fred fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Manzanares having to interfere. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kraig Fred, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. In the 14th minute, Kraig Fred made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. In the 19th minute, Estudiantes de América's Kraig Fred dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. 21 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de América's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Sarmiento came free, but Marcos Ranolfo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Estudiantes de América getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Prospero Gabirel hit a great ball. 25 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Cornelio Ruisko came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 29 minutes of play, Estudiantes de América's Korneliusz Miodek made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Manzanares was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 31st minute of the game. One of Estudiantes de América:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Colombia:s goal. Axel Montenegro took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Ranolfo. Marcos Ranolfo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Marcos Ranolfo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kevin Mastache in the 36th minute of the match. After 37 minutes Estudiantes de América's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Axel Montenegro who took care of the corner kick. Marcos Ranolfo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santino Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Santino Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Marcos Ranolfo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Mastache in the 52nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Kraig Fred kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Estudiantes de América's Prospero Gabirel got a free kick in the 61st minute. Estudiantes de América made a substitution. Joel Cordarrel replaced Cornelio Ruisko. In the 62nd minute, Prospero Gabirel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute Abram Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Ranolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute, Santino Seco made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Ranolfo. Estudiantes de América's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Korneliusz Miodek in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Manzanares saved Colombia from getting behind. In the 79th match minute, Estudiantes de América was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl Van Der Veecken to maneuver through the defense. Abram Secada sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Abram Secada got free with Marcos Ranolfo in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcos Ranolfo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abram Secada in the 82nd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Colombia's Abram Secada slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcos Ranolfo. That made the score 4-3 after 83 minutes of play. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Cordarrel, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute.
