After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Krzysztof Bator managed to get in a good position for a shot. ◄19A10►Brunsberga's supporters rose to their feet, but Krzysztof Bator was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind ◄19A10►Brunsberga's goalkeeper Ziemowit Lemiesz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ziemowit Lemiesz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Agustín Saelices might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ziemowit Lemiesz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Agustín Saelices ran back to his position shaking his head. Ziemowit Lemiesz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agustín Saelices, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zygmunt Mleczewski in the 40th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 59th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ziemowit Lemiesz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Ecuador booed when ◄19A10►Brunsberga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zbyszko Borowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. 83 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Zbyszko Borowski came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
