The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Andres Tavio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agustín Saelices, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Andres Tavio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 13th minute of play. In the 18th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andres Tavio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Andres Tavio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Centenario Bohemio's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Andres Tavio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Andres Tavio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of the match. After 27 minutes Centenario Bohemio's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Andres Tavio came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After 36 played minutes Centenario Bohemio got a freekick which was hit by Horacio Bernaldo. If Juan Sebastián Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 39th minute by Gonzalo Berterame got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Centenario Bohemio's Andres Tavio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 40th minute of play. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andres Tavio having to interfere. Daniel Zorita's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andres Tavio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 44th minute of play forced Centenario Bohemio's goalkeeper Andres Tavio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 47th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Matías Donato replaced Severo Maju. With a little luck, Centenario Bohemio's Andres Tavio got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Andres Tavio made a huge save. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzalo Berterame, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonzalo Berterame in the 74th minute of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Centenario Bohemio's zone, Luis Andino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andres Tavio came out of the goal and Luis Andino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Andres Tavio having to make a save. Leonardo Flores hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Ecuador played a much better game than Centenario Bohemio and deserved their victory. The Centenario Bohemio players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
