Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emiliano Rodera in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 21st minute of play forced El Gallo de Moron's goalkeeper Nacho Gonzalez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 27 minutes into the match, Luisinho Laguna dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 3-0. In the 41st match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Andino to maneuver through the defense. Luisinho Laguna might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luisinho Laguna ran back to his position shaking his head.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emiliano Rodera was the one to do the kick off. Luis Andino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Nacho Gonzalez made a huge save. If Luisinho Laguna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisinho Laguna in the 61st minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When El Gallo de Moron's Luisinho Laguna in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Luisinho Laguna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. When Jimeno Mikolas fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Gallo de Moron's protests and gave Jimeno Mikolas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 83rd minute, Jimeno Mikolas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 84 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Andino. In the 86thth minute of the game Luisinho Laguna who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 90th minute, one of Ecuador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ecuador. Julio Vera had in the 92ndth minute some difficulties stopping Teofilo Garrote's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisinho Laguna in the 96th minute of the match.
