After taking down the ball on Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's corner Behram Vacit fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Pedro Manzanares quite easily take care of the ball. A collision led to Berenjenas de Punto Fijo getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Zdzislaw Rakowski hit a great ball. 11 minutes into the match, Colombia's Pascual Carballar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thibaut Vandamme narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Juli Alvarez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Manzanares having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 32nd minute of play forced Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's goalkeeper Thibaut Vandamme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Axel Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 34th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thibaut Vandamme. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Axel Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 46th minute, Axel Montenegro made a precise shot to the right of Thibaut Vandamme. Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The wind increased when Alvaro Ramiréz made the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Axel Montenegro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Thibaut Vandamme. That made the score 2-2 in the 51 minute of play. Thibaut Vandamme showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Mastache, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 59th minute, Dieter Denys hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute, Axel Montenegro made a precise shot to the right of Thibaut Vandamme. Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's John Guillarte was substituted for Behram Vacit. After 79 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Luis Cazalla. If Codruț Domuță had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 84 minutes into the match, Berenjenas de Punto Fijo's goal looked a bit too open when Ignacio Mastache came free, but Thibaut Vandamme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute, Codruț Domuță left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Berenjenas de Punto Fijo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. Colombia's Antonio Indiano quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Alvaro Ramiréz, made in the 88th minute of the game. In the 91st minute, Codruț Domuță made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-3. If Dieter Denys had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thibaut Vandamme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignacio Mastache in the 95th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ignacio Mastache's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thibaut Vandamme was relentless in the 95th minute of the game. For all the effort they put into the match, the Colombia players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Berenjenas de Punto Fijo.
