Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Peru's Julian Murillo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Peruzzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rolando Noboa was out of position in the 7 minute of play, and Percival Koehler capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Percival Koehler really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Borussia Dortmund MZB's Angelo Peruzzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 11th minute of play. Luis Blasi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Rolando Noboa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Dante Hever in the 18th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Peru's Eliseo Mina. Angelo Peruzzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Peru's Rolando Noboa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Peru from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Fabiano Leão in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 38th minute of play forced Borussia Dortmund MZB's goalkeeper Angelo Peruzzi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Hever kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Percival Koehler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Borussia Dortmund MZB's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luis Blasi in the 43rd minute. Borussia Dortmund MZB's Luis Blasi was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Rolando Noboa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luís Fabiano Leão stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fabiano Leão, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 56th minute Luís Fabiano Leão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Angelo Peruzzi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. If Eliseo Mina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Angelo Peruzzi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 65th minute of play. After 70 minutes Borussia Dortmund MZB's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Eliseo Mina fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Angelo Peruzzi quite easily take care of the ball. Angelo Peruzzi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emmanuel Reyes in the 71st minute. Borussia Dortmund MZB made a substitution. Clarence Seedorf replaced Guga Capixaba. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 78th minute. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Moises Gayoso fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Angelo Peruzzi quite easily take care of the ball. With an all-out effort, Peru's Angelo Peruzzi threw himself towards the right post 81 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Julian Murillo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Rolando Noboa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gernando Pernambucano went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. In the 93rd minute of the match, Eliseo Mina tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Angelo Peruzzi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 95 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Gernando Pernambucano came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Peru's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Borussia Dortmund MZB had won, even though Peru had held more of the ball.
