It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Axel Tasis kicked off to start the match. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Rafael van der Vaart kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Juan Rubio hit a great ball. In the 8th minute, Rafael van der Vaart got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Glasston booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Noboa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Mete Golob dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Benito Sanz, 2-0. 14 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael van der Vaart came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Rafael van der Vaart sent off a good shot on target. In the 18th minute, Jim Schmeltzer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 22 minutes, Abel Carballo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Glasston players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Abel Carballo got a free kick in the 22nd minute. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Rafael van der Vaart kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. After 34 minutes, Rafael van der Vaart made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Eliseo Noboa hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the game, Rafael van der Vaart lined in a short shot 7-0 behind a frustrated Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafael van der Vaart, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Alan Moruga charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alan Moruga the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Alan Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Eddy Watts stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Eddy Watts tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 47 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafael van der Vaart. Af the end of the first half the score was 7-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rafael van der Vaart made a kick off. A hard shot 52 in the game by Axel Tasis from a close distance when the talented Carlton Convine managed to make a qualified save. Glasston's players were relieved. In the 55th minute, Mete Golob ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. 57 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Mete Golob came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael van der Vaart in the 60th minute of play. Glasston were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Costa Rica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tom Rheistein took the corner. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mete Golob went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 10-0 was the resulting score. Rafael van der Vaart struck a weak shot in the 68th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Glasston. When Glasston's Rafael van der Vaart in the 70th minute got a chance for a shot 70th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Costa Rica's goalie prevented a goal. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rafael van der Vaart's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. In the 76th minute Rafael van der Vaart shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael van der Vaart came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 80 minutes Costa Rica's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Tom Rheistein who took care of the corner kick. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Mete Golob kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. 86 minutes into the game, Glasston's Rafael van der Vaart nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 13-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rafael van der Vaart in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. In the 90th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Rafael van der Vaart came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Glasston fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafael van der Vaart couldn't finish the play. In the 92nd minute, Eddy Watts got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Rafael van der Vaart put it in 14-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Sanz. Glasston's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
