After 3 played minutes Asesinos Por Naturaleza got a freekick which was hit by Silvestre Moise. In the 7th minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 14 minutes into the match, Asesinos Por Naturaleza's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Pablo Lohitzun reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 22nd minute Beto Márcico suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Asesinos Por Naturaleza's Felipe Ralondo was substituted for Beto Márcico. After 23 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Andino. Nico Tagliafico's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by Asesinos Por Naturaleza's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Asesinos Por Naturaleza's Pablo Lohitzun managed to reach the ball for a save. After 37 played minutes Asesinos Por Naturaleza got a freekick which was hit by Silvestre Moise. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Pablo Lohitzun tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montes got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 52nd minute of the match Nico Tagliafico shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Furtado in the 56th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Arias to maneuver through the defense. Asesinos Por Naturaleza's Esteve Nerio was substituted for Cai Shi Sheng. The supporters of Asesinos Por Naturaleza booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nico Tagliafico's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. After taking down the ball on Asesinos Por Naturaleza's corner Nico Tagliafico fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 74 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Nico Tagliafico who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Nico Tagliafico got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Nico Tagliafico shot a long shot in the 75th minute and a light blocked Julio Vera hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 1-1. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pablo Lohitzun having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Esteve Nerio in the 81st minute of play. It was a well-played corner which Felipe Ralondo managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 86 minutes into the match, Felipe Ralondo notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Ralondo in the 90th minute of the match. 96 minutes into the match, Asesinos Por Naturaleza's goalkeeper Pablo Lohitzun had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. When the referee blew the final whistle, Asesinos Por Naturaleza could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
