Jamaica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kévin Zenón was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. With a little luck, Jamaica's Demonde Jacobson got control of the ball when Kévin Zenón tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Club Atletico Los Andes defense, Romon Oliver kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Donato Calvet. The Club Atletico Los Andes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Donato Calvet should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kévin Zenón in the 19th minute of play forced Jamaica's goalkeeper Demonde Jacobson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kordal Duff hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Jamaica's Demonde Jacobson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danilo Abajas in the 38th minute of play. In the 42nd match minute, Jamaica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Javan Develder to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Blas Benat got free with Demonde Jacobson in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Finlay Stair hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute, Club Atletico Los Andes's Kévin Zenón dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 2-3.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kévin Zenón in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Demonde Jacobson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Romon Oliver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Demonde Jacobson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lisandro Niva in the 96th minute of play.
