Independiente's Fulgencio Senen was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 15th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Fulgencio Senen kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bruno Barrett. That made the score 4-0 in the 18 minute of play. Independiente's Fulgencio Senen got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fulgencio Senen in the 22nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruno Barrett saved Curacao from getting behind. 24 minutes into the game, Fulgencio Senen recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bruno Barrett. Fulgencio Senen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-0. 30 minutes into the game, Fulgencio Senen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Bruno Barrett was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fulgencio Senen who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Bruno Barrett when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Fulgencio Senen succeeded in the game's 34th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 7-0. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Ovidio Rik took a quick shot and it went in 8-0 without a chance for Bruno Barrett to make any attempt to save it. Celso Bizi struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Bruno Barrett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independiente. When Gabirel Christbo came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gabirel Christbo couldn't finish the play. In the 45th play minute Fulgencio Senen came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Bruno Barrett. 9-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 9-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fulgencio Senen made a kick off. A collision led to Independiente getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Massimo Ruggeri hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Curacao defense, Ezequiel Locaio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruno Barrett. The Curacao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruno Barrett should have stopped the shot. Bruno Barrett dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 17-0. After some careless play in the Curacao defense, Fulgencio Senen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruno Barrett. The Curacao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruno Barrett should have stopped the shot. Independiente walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
