In the 17th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tyrone Summerfield saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Piotr Furgal could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute of play forced Muñeco FC's goalkeeper Tyrone Summerfield to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Remigio Palban charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Remigio Palban the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 31st match minute, Muñeco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remigio Palban to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tyrone Summerfield saved Muñeco FC from getting behind. Julio Vera was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Víctor Franco showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 33 minute of play. After 36 played minutes Muñeco FC got a freekick which was hit by Tobias Patxi. In the 41st match minute, Muñeco FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prudencio Ellande to maneuver through the defense. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Víctor Franco to make the kick off. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. In the 74th minute, Cristian Sancho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1.
