After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, Vito Travassos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. Wanderson Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Ronaldo Crispíns short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Ricardo Zorita to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save El Salvador from getting a goal against them. Ronaldo Crispín who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Ricardo Zorita when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Yaya Sow got free with Ricardo Zorita in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Yaya Sow blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricardo Zorita having to make a save. Ricardo Zorita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldo Crispín in the 96th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. São Paulo F.C. fully deserved thier win.
