Donato Vargas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Lautaro Navarro made a huge save. 15 minutes into the match, Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Roberto Velasco. Hélio Torres hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. In the 22ndth minute of the game Edmundo Espiga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Júbilo Iwata's Jano Bastos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 26 minutes into the game, Sebastian Villa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Honduras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Júbilo Iwata the free kick. Júbilo Iwata's André Luiz Salgado was substituted for Sandro de Barros. A collision led to Honduras getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Sebastian Villa hit a great ball. Edmundo Espiga scored 0-1 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jano Bastos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 37th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Espinar to maneuver through the defense. 39 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Honduras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Júbilo Iwata the free kick. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a free kick in the 40th minute. A collision led to Júbilo Iwata getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Dedé de Castro hit a great ball. In the 42nd minute of the match Edmundo Espiga shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jano Bastos showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Edmundo Espiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After the first half Honduras were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zé Roberto Velasco to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Edmundo Espiga made a precise shot to the right of Jano Bastos. Júbilo Iwata's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. In the 62ndth minute of the game Donato Vargas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luca Espinar kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Júbilo Iwata's Jano Bastos got control of the ball when Edmundo Espiga tried to sneak it across the goal line. Sebastian Villa might have been able to make a better finish in the 69th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jano Bastos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastian Villa ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 71st minute, Milagros Cabal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Roberto Velasco in the 73rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zé Roberto Velasco in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lautaro Navarro saved Honduras from getting behind. Júbilo Iwata's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Décio Paraibano in the 79th minute. In the 80th minute, Rafinha Velasco fired away a hard free kick towards the goal. Lautaro Navarro moved to his left, but didn't have to make a save as the ball went out of bounds. 85 minutes into the match, Zé Roberto Velasco notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Honduras's Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 88th match minute, Júbilo Iwata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélio Torres to maneuver through the defense. After 91 played minutes Júbilo Iwata got a freekick which was hit by Hélio Torres. In the 93rd minute, Sebastian Villa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Júbilo Iwata's Zé Roberto Velasco got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Honduras's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
