After 18 played minutes Sporting CP got a freekick which was hit by Paulino Lousada. In the 21st minute, Filip Latocha made a precise shot to the right of David Ventura. Sporting CP's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pascoal Estrela in the 24th minute of play forced Wengeln SA's goalkeeper Eugeniusz Piesciuk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sporting CP's David Ventura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filip Latocha in the 26th minute of play. Eugeniusz Piesciuk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Américo Caiado in the 27th minute. With a little luck, Sporting CP's David Ventura got control of the ball when Tytus Indyk tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 71st minute, Quintino Azeredo made a precise shot to the right of Eugeniusz Piesciuk. Wengeln SA's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2.
