When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Pascoal Estrela put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Dorian de Lima. Laurentino Torcato sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Quintino Azeredo had several of the Uruguayana SS's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 38 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-0 score and a disappointed Dorian de Lima as he didn't even see the shot coming. Pascoal Estrela blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dorian de Lima having to make a save. If Quintino Azeredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. David Ventura showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Gustavo Domingues in the 46th minute of the match.

Pascoal Estrela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorian de Lima having to interfere. Albertinho Vieira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. David Ventura came out and tried to block the shot, but Albertinho Vieira slotted it home off the left post making it 5-1 in the 78th minute. In the 82nd minute, Quintino Azeredo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Pascoal Gama had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th match minute, Sporting CP was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Américo Caiado to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Sporting CP's David Ventura got control of the ball when Jaime Trevisan tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rafa Donato kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Gusmão Calado took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 98th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dorian de Lima. Uruguayana SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Uruguayana SS's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
