In the 4th minute Braulio Iyan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Emil Arendarski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 8 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jesús Banana. Emil Arendarski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 9th minute of play. When the match clock showed 15 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Jesús Banana sped through Ecuador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Julio Vera. In the 19th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emil Arendarski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, CA Juventud Unida's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Emil Arendarski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 24 minutes CA Juventud Unida's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Emil Arendarski despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 44th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emil Arendarski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. If Braulio Iyan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Braulio Iyan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After a rather tough play, CA Juventud Unida's Modesto Cheche got a free kick in the 68th minute. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jesús Banana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 93 minutes into the match, CA Juventud Unida's goalkeeper Emil Arendarski had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Jesús Banana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Jesús Banana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The CA Juventud Unida support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
