When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Dieguito Maradona sped through Panama's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. A throw-in in the 28th minute of the game was made by Tomas Berganza with Miguel Miralles as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 31 minutes into the game, Dieguito Maradona cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Marcos Cotilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 34 minutes into the match, LA LUZ F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Abraham Alguacil came free, but Miguel Ángel Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teo Venceslas in the 36th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 39th minute of play forced LA LUZ F.C.'s goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Torres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

LA LUZ F.C.'s Jailson Britto was substituted for Teo Venceslas. The wind increased when Tomas Berganza made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 53 minutes, Jailson Britto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LA LUZ F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Jailson Britto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 54th minute, Dawid Rojek ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcos Cotilla was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. The supporters of LA LUZ F.C. booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Cambeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 67thth minute of the game Atilla Açıkalın who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panama's Marcos Cotilla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Dawid Rojek went, in the 68th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After 74th play minutes Dawid Rojek shot 5-0, a short shot which went by Marcos Cotilla and just under the crossbar into goal. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 77 minutes play.
