The supporters of Honduras booed when Jagiellonia Denver was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Viorel Olaru didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cacá Čačak kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 34th minute, Milagros Cabal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hélio Donatello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Honduras from getting a goal against them. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Cacá Čačak made the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Michal Majdoch in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 57th minute, Hélio Donatello ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lautaro Navarro was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After a rather tough play, Jagiellonia Denver's Per-Olof Åkesson got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 65th minute, Hélio Donatello made a precise shot to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Jagiellonia Denver's Özalp Durkaya was substituted for Florence Diaz. In the 71st minute Cacá Čačak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Viorel Olaru during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Hélio Donatello came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Jagiellonia Denver fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hélio Donatello couldn't finish the play. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio Donatello in the 94th minute of play.
