Yan Yang Lang got a throw-in 43 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Juan Leto. 44 minutes into the match, Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugo Bela. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudio Caniggia in the 45th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bo Ros made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marta Pressley saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
