An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristiano Graziano in the 22nd minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristiano Graziano in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marco Day prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Cassius Byrne came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the USA fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cassius Byrne couldn't finish the play. USA's Marco Day proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save USA from getting a goal against them. Cassius Byrne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marco Day made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Dobromir Zbydniowski sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Alberto Suárez in the 39th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute, Ndoc Amokachi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cassius Byrne was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cassius Byrne got free with Dino Foni in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 52 minutes of play, USA's Cassius Byrne made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dobromir Zbydniowski in the 59th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Luis Alberto Suárez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and Luis Alberto Suárez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Khalid Parry was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Sam Campbell came free with the goalkeeper in the 92nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dino Foni could save by the left post. Ndoc Amokachi's late challenge caught a USA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ndoc Amokachi helped the player get up and apologised. Ndoc Amokachi hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute, Sam Campbell got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. USA walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
