Rufino Giron scored 1-0 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 14th minute, Club Puerto Quito's Ayoví Costoya dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Edmundo Espiga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmundo Espiga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mauricio Precioso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mauricio Precioso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 22nd minute of play. After 23 played minutes Club Puerto Quito got a freekick which was hit by Rufino Giron. Diego Narbona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santiago Huemen, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. In the 42nd minute, Milagros Cabal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 43 minutes into the match, Club Puerto Quito's Diego Narbona broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The supporters of Club Puerto Quito booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milagros Cabal didn't get a good kick on the ball.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmundo Espiga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Edmundo Espiga who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Mauricio Precioso when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 61st minute Rufino Giron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mauricio Precioso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ayoví Costoya in the 72nd minute of play. Rufino Giron took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. 78 minutes into the match, Ayoví Costoya had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ayoví Costoya was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. Rufino Giron kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 83 minutes into the match, Rufino Giron notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Honduras's Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 87 minutes into the game, Club Puerto Quito's Rufino Giron nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lautaro Navarro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ayoví Costoya in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th minute, Conrado Leo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Club Puerto Quito's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
