Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 巩彬树, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agustín Saelices in the 16th minute of play forced ◇Mz.梦◆广州增城足球精英俱乐部队's goalkeeper 袁锋康 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 巩彬树 in the 23rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling 巩彬树 in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A hard shot 43 in the game by Rogelio Onofre from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved.

After 50 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ecuador! After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, 周南建 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rogelio Onofre in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. The supporters of ◇Mz.梦◆广州增城足球精英俱乐部队 booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leandro Cuarto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 61st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Julio Vera. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
