After a defensive mix-up in Aesir FC FSCMZ's zone, Jose Sanz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Eduardo Galvão came out of the goal and Jose Sanz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sydney Ramalho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ernesto Berger blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacobo Nores having to make a save. In the 22nd minute Sydney Ramalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th match minute, Aesir FC FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anselmo Fantini to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jaime Pardo got free with Luiz Eduardo Galvão in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Paraguay's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
