Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ademir Baptista narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Josué Pinheiro in the 6th minute. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Celedonio Florinio sent off a good shot on target. 17 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Celedonio Florinio. The supporters of Matungo Gaúcho booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Matungo Gaúcho were awarded a corner in the 22th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gilmar Borges took the corner. After having played for 23 minutes, Josué Pinheiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Matungo Gaúcho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Josué Pinheiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Josué Pinheiros short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. If Gilmar Borges had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 31st minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ademir Baptista was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Josué Madureira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Josué Pinheiro in the 45thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Julio Vera, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Josué Pinheiro was the one to do the kick off. Gilmar Borges recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Josué Pinheiro came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 57 played minutes Matungo Gaúcho got a freekick which was hit by 龙森景. Felix Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Josué Pinheiro in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ademir Baptista having to interfere. Daniel Zorita in the 64thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ademir Baptista, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 龙森景 kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. 67 minutes into the game, one of Matungo Gaúcho:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Ademir Baptista went to the wrong direction when Daniel Zorita was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After 72 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gilmar Borges who took care of the corner kick. 78 minutes into the game, Celedonio Florinio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 81st minute Celedonio Florinio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 82nd minute, Gilmar Borges made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Gilmar Borges struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Matungo Gaúcho. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 89th minute to try and stop a shot by Matungo Gaúcho's Josué Pinheiro. But to his dismay, Josué Pinheiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Gilmar Borges stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Gilmar Borges tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
