Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Nada Pontual F.C getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Leandro Varela hit a great ball. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Nada Pontual F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Paulo Dias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raúl do Valle in the 19th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, El Salvador's Moises Fernandino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leonardo Marques made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 26th minute, Abram Luque got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marco Tamayo's late challenge caught a Nada Pontual F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raúl do Valle, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Moises Fernandino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Leonardo Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Moises Fernandino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Leandro Varela's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Zorita read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 51st minute of play. A well-hit corner resulted in Miguel Falcão heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 56th minute Raúl do Valle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raúl Bezerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jesus Carvallo lost his temper 68 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Célio Sena walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 72nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Nada Pontual F.C's goalkeeper Leonardo Marques, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 88 played minutes Nada Pontual F.C got a freekick which was hit by Luiz Paulo Dias. Nada Pontual F.C's Leonardo Marques proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Nada Pontual F.C from getting a goal against them.
