In the 3rd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Turgut Talha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jose Abar hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Turgut Talha read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 5th minute of play. Club Deportivo Español's Turgut Talha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 8th minute of play. Turgut Talha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 13th minute of the match. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Club Deportivo Español's goalkeeper Turgut Talha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Turgut Talha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Mina in the 17th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Español's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Turgut Talha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd match minute, Peru was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alonso Berganza to maneuver through the defense. Rolando Noboa didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 24th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Anthony Bonelli made in the 29th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Petrică Bărbulescu however managed to control. Turgut Talha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vacid Nefer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rolando Noboa having to make a save. The Club Deportivo Español fans' excitement grew in the 34th match minute when Club Deportivo Español's Vacid Nefer looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Eliseo Mina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Peru's attentive Anthony Alvarado managed to snatch the ball when Vítor Carioca made a throw-in in the 51st minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Español's Jose Abar got a free kick in the 56th minute. 70 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Español's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Turgut Talha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vacid Nefer in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luz Tejedor in the 78th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Español's goalkeeper Turgut Talha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Turgut Talha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 80th minute of the match. The corner ended in Luz Tejedor almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Club Deportivo Español's Turgut Talha did a great save. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vacid Nefer in the 84th minute of play. 93 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Vacid Nefer came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Club Deportivo Español fans cheered their team off the field, for while Peru had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
