In the 5th minute of the match Gremengo FCCMZ got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Perttu Bado ran over to the corner to take the kick. Nico Zonta's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nico Zonta helped the player get up and apologised. Nico Zonta hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 11th minute of play forced Gremengo FCCMZ's goalkeeper Edinho Neto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edinho Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edinho Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 28th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Gremengo FCCMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Edinho Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edinho Neto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edinho Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edinho Neto having to interfere. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elco Das, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edinho Neto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Elco Das made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gremengo FCCMZ's goalkeeper Edinho Neto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Gremengo FCCMZ's Elco Das. But to his dismay, Elco Das quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 58th minute, Leonardo Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 59th minute. Edinho Neto didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The corner ended in Uriel Bermudez almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Gremengo FCCMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Perttu Bado didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 69th match minute, Gremengo FCCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perttu Bado to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elco Das in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Elco Das kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Elco Das went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. When Gremengo FCCMZ's Elco Das in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Cafu Barral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save.
