Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Petruț Fințescu made the kick off which started today's match. In the 2nd minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Rigoberto Nazario. Argentinos Juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven de Zwaan in the 8th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 13th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rigoberto Nazario came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Cristian Sancho. But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute got a chance for a shot 23rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Argentinos Juniors's goalie prevented a goal. In the 28th minute, Petruț Fințescu made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rigoberto Nazario was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. In the 36th minute Petruț Fințescu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 37 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mats Falch was slow to take the kick. During this time Argentinos Juniors's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Argentinos Juniors's Mats Falch to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 41st minute, Luis Andino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 45 minutes into the match, Argentinos Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Rigoberto Nazario reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Argentinos Juniors players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 2-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 52nd minute to try and stop a shot by Argentinos Juniors's Petruț Fințescu. But to his dismay, Petruț Fințescu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. The audience thought a goal was coming when Agustín Saelices got free with Rigoberto Nazario in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd minute, Agustín Saelices made a precise shot to the right of Rigoberto Nazario. Argentinos Juniors's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-4. Argentinos Juniors made a substitution. Robert Wilson replaced Eleuterio Milian. 70 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Sven de Zwaan came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute Argentinos Juniors were awarded a corner. Mats Falch went to the cornerflag to take it. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Argentinos Juniors was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mats Falch didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho came free and shot a quick shot against goal 76 minutes in the game, fortunately Rigoberto Nazario had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Rigoberto Nazario took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. If Robert Wilson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruperto Matei in the 82nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robert Wilson in the 84th minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruperto Matei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Argentinos Juniors's attentive Bartlomiej Mosiniak managed to snatch the ball when Camilo Gisbert made a throw-in in the 90th minute of the game. Petruț Fințescu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 93rd match minute, Argentinos Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celedonio Madeo to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
